To protect the health and safety of students, staff, and families during the pandemic, Restoration Ministries Christian Academy (RMCA) has developed a set of guidelines to follow, while being flexible to make necessary adjustments as may be required.
Summary of Health and Safety Guidelines
Temperature/Symptoms Checks
Temperature/symptoms checks will be administered upon arrival and at least twice daily. Students with a temperature of 100.4 will not be allowed to attend classes.
Facial Coverings Required
All students and staff will be required to wear cloth facial masks. Masks with RMCA’s logo may be ordered from educationaloutfitters.com
Physical Distancing within Classrooms
Group desks will be broken up to maintain social distancing for grades 1 and up.
Class Sizes
The average class size will be 10 students per classroom. New and larger classrooms are being provided.
Hygiene Practices will be Taught Consistently
Students will be taught basic everyday protective measures and healthy habits. Signs will be posted throughout the school encouraging the following habits:

washing hands with soap and water for 20 seconds

wearing a face mask
-
covering your mouth and/or nose when coughing or sneezing
-
avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
-
avoiding those who are sick
-
staying home when you are sick
Quarantine and Isolation
If a student, staff member, or close family member show symptoms of Covid 19, or tests positive, the student or staff member must be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days at home. Students or staff may return after symptom-free 1 day.
Class is suspended 14 days if 1 case is confirmed. School is suspended 14 days if 2 or more cases are confirmed.
If a student exhibits symptoms during the school day, the student will immediately be removed and placed in isolation until released to a parent or guardian.
Staggered Lunch Schedule
Students will bring their own lunches to school and the lunch schedule will be staggered in order to maintain social distancing.
Sanitation
The facilities will be cleaned and disinfected throughout each day.
Parent Orientation by Appointment
Parent Orientation will be scheduled for Sunday afternoon, August 16, 2020, beginning at 2:00 pm in thirty-minute intervals with 8 parents at a time. The secretary will notify the parents of the schedule. Face masks will be required.
Opening of School Facility
The school building will be open to staff and students at 7:30 a. m. Staff screenings will be required before entering and student screenings will be required before parents leave the campus.
Visitors
No visitation will be permitted during regular school hours.
